If you have perfect abs, you know how much of a confidence booster they are. You feel comfortable around yourself and others, you feel better about yourself, physically, and you also feel better emotionally. You find that you are more active and less prone to drowsiness.
In having perfect abs, you do not quite have to worry about getting into shape so much as staying in shape. This is not hard. All you have to do is stay on your daily routine.
If you need to get perfect abs, that is a completely different story. Abs of steel are not brought about by pills or supplements that you see on the television, they’re brought about by hard work. This is simple, yet effective. If you have the determination to keep up a daily regiment, getting perfect abs is not an unreachable goal for you. The harder you work, the quicker the abdominal muscles will form into a six-pack.
The easiest way to get started is to lots and lots of sit-ups and/or crunches. If you are not used to doing crunches, try starting off in small numbers, about 25 at a time, several times a day. Eventually you will be able to work up to more. If you find you are not feeling anything from the amount you are doing, try increasing it by about five to 10 more. Eventually you will be doing hundreds, maybe more at a time.
Once you have worked yourself into a higher amount of sit-ups or crunches every day you can start using other exercises that will increase the speed at which your abs will really begin to take shape. These include exercises like hanging from a pull-up bar and bringing your knees to your chest or up and to either side, alternatively. Doing so allows gravity to weigh in a whole new strength and endurance factor to the abdominal exercise that you receive. The only thing you can do to achieve those perfect abs, beside keeping up with your workout, is to eat healthily and add a little bit of cardio to your workout to burn extra fat.
Once you are in better shape you can start to think about working the rest of your body while still toning your abdominal muscles. There is one workout in particular that, when done correctly, works your entire body. It is very tough at first, but you will get used to it as time wears on. What you need to do is get some barbells or hand weights that can roll on the ground. Hold yourself on them in a push-up position, keeping your body as straight as possible. Once you have done so, move one arm out slowly and as far as possible while still keeping your body straight. Move it back in the same fashion and repeat this with the other arm.
If you are able to do all of the above workouts with ease and in high repetitions, you should be closing in on your goal of having perfect abs. If you do not have the abs you want yet, don’t worry, it takes time. However the rewards of keeping up the workouts in that amount of time are tremendous.
